Audrey (Rome)

Autumn 2001

Only one piece of haute jewelry – among the numerous historic curiosities – is part of the Pearls exhibition, held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York from October 13, 2001 to April 4, 2002. It is a splendid brooch representing a flowering branch, with 5 flowers with diamond petals (10 carats in all) and an Australian pearl as the corolla, measuring 15 to 16.5 mm, on which sits a butterfly with a yellow sapphire body and rock crystal wings, like some of the branch's leaves. A marvel by Ellagem, New York.
