Audrey (Rome)
Autumn 2001
Only one piece of haute jewelry among the numerous historic curiosities is part of the Pearls exhibition, held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York from October 13, 2001 to April 4, 2002. It is a splendid brooch representing a flowering branch, with 5 flowers with diamond petals (10 carats in all) and an Australian pearl as the corolla, measuring 15 to 16.5 mm, on which sits a butterfly with a yellow sapphire body and rock crystal wings, like some of the branch's leaves. A marvel by Ellagem, New York. |
