 Pearl Brooches by Ella Gafter
American designer Ella Gafter was born in Poland during World War II and started her training as a jeweler and goldsmith in Rome. In fact, she has always maintained close ties with Italy, home to many of the craftsmen with whom she works. She is currently working in association with her daughter, Talila.
Two years ago, this designer received the Special Arte y Joya Award in the first edition of the Tahitian Pearl Trophy. Her work was also selected to take part in a pearl exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and in the Chicago Field Museum. Out of her recent production, we have chosen to publish this series of brooches. They are jewels designed for Spring fresh and joyful jewels that display the designer's gift for combining pearls with precious stones.
As a creative artist, Ella Gafter is attracted to extremes. Her work illustrates extremes of beauty, essential values and craftsmanship in brilliant-cut diamonds. She designs and produces jewels that harken back to the great artists of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, who would develop pieces of exquisite beauty to offer to their princely patrons. |
