Woman's Jewelry Association February 2002 Ella Gafter of EllaGem in New York created a breathtaking Australian South Sea cultured pearl brooch that is the only piece of modern jewelry on display at the American Museum of Natural History's major exhibit called, simply, "Pearls." The piece is some ten inches long with nearly nine carats worth of diamonds and ten 16mm pearls. It was used on the cover of Jewelry Connoisseur magazine and was printed full-size.
